Amongst the people in the audience, were Italy's former Ambassador in Turkey, Carlo Marsili, and his wife Selva, the Kaymakam (governor) of Kaş, Selami Kapankaya, and Kalkan's Mayor, Saim Karakurt.
They were treated to great performances of music and traditional Turkish dancing, at the Vakıf building on Şehitler Caddesi.
The eight day visit
The Mayor of Cupramontana has invited performers from Kalkan to go over, and take part in a dance and music festival, to be held in Cupramontana, between 25th and 31st July.
Local musician, Sadık Öğretir and one other teacher, is taking a group of 20 people to perform at this festival. There are ten children aged between 9 and 13 who will sing and play accordions, whilst ten adults, aged between 22 and 30 will perform traditional dances.
Below: A few photos from this afternoon.
We wish them a successful trip.
