This is the bad news that the Directorate General of Migration Management (DGMM) office in Kaş closes its doors for the last time on Friday 14th September 2018. From Monday 17th September all residence permit applications will be handled from the DGMM office in Kemer.
In fact the reality is that no further applications are being handled in Kaş unless you have already booked an appointment.
The KTLN Guides on obtaining residency will be updated in due course. In the meantime here are a few contact details for the office we now need to use.
DGMM Kemer office contact details
ADDRESS: Merkez Mah. Yalı Cad. No:1, Inner Door No: D-E, Kemer Belediye office, Kemer, Antalya (see image and map below)
PHONE: 0242 814 4936
OPENING HOURS: Monday to Friday between 08.30 and 17.30 with one hour for lunch.
We should mention that over recent days we have not been able to get through to this number despite several attempts. We would appreciate feedback from others on whether this number is working.
Short and sweet
The DGMM office in Kaş only opened at the end of 2015 so we had the benefit and the convenience of a local office for less than three years. We don't know the official reason for this closure but for local expats it's a sad day. Kalkan residents now face a three hour journey along the coast instead of a 25 minute drive to Kaş. Make sure your paperwork is spot on because if you have to come back to Kalkan to sort out a problem it's going to ruin your day.
If you apply for your residency, please take the time to provide us with feedback as to how it went, and let us know if our guide needs changing in any way. Your privacy will be respected, as no personal details will appear in any KTLN report. You can get in touch using the Contact Us tab at the top of this page.
