It is with great sadness that we report the death of Kalkan fan Pam Bassett who passed away on Monday 7th May following a short illness. She was 68 years old.
Pam lived with husband Ian in Minster on the Isle of Sheppey. They bought their Kalkan home in 2001 and were regular visitors, spending several months of the year in Kalkan including most Christmases and New Years.
They made a great many friends in Kalkan over the years. Pam was a great KAPSA supporter and a lover of cats - Persians in particular. She often helped with feeding many of the street dogs and cats.
Her daughter Sasha told us, “One of the fondest memories I have is when a cat gave birth to 5 kittens in a flower pot. Mum fed them all and they have never left. They are known as ‘the flower pot five’.”
Pam leaves behind her husband Ian, children and grandchildren and she was looking forward to the arrival of her first great grandchild in September.
We send our condolences to her family and close friends.
May she rest in peace. Allah rahmet eylesin.
